Assistant to the President of a Boutique Mgmt Consulting Firm
Sandra Hartog & Associates, a boutique Talent Management/Human Resources Consulting Firm, is going through a period of rapid growth. We seek a bright, organized, self-starting, computer savvy, full-time Executive Assistant with outstanding interpersonal, organizational and language (written and verbal) skills. We are looking for someone to provide support to the President, Vice President, and other staff (as needed).
The ideal job candidate will enjoy working in an environment where things change quickly and will respond with initiative to the evolving needs of our firm and be able to effectively multi-task. Our client-driven culture demands that each person reprioritize when necessary and wear many different hats throughout the day. Candidates who are interested in working in a highly structured, predictable, and steady-paced work environment will be frustrated in our office, and should not apply. This is a great starting position for someone considering a career in consulting, marketing, or business development, or someone trying to decide on a career path before going on to a second degree.
While most employees come to us with certain skills, we all build on our skills daily. We strongly support professional development. We provide a flexible, enjoyable, and stimulating work environment for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include serving as the right arm of the President, supporting her in a wide variety of new projects, and keeping the office (and President) running smoothly. Examples of projects include: researching business development opportunities, organizing our participation at trade shows, designing new marketing materials with a branding company, writing and distributing press releases, creating first drafts of sales and marketing plans, creating original PowerPoint presentations (both content and design), assisting in the development of legal contracts working with our attorney, looking for new sub-contractors and vendors for a range of services, working with technology subcontractors, etc.
While no less important, daily responsibilities include the basics of taking the lead in managing the President's office, including: serving as a conduit of information among staff members at different locations, maintaining the President's office and files, heavy client contact, scheduling and confirming appointments, drafting, proofreading, revising, and formatting documents, making travel arrangements, answering the phone, and light computer maintenance (e.g., installing new software or hardware, etc.), as well as other things as they occur.
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite and the Internet. Photoshop, Dream weaver, PowerPoint and HTML experience are a definite plus, but comfort learning new computer programs trumps all!
Other Important Considerations: Our office is located in Park Slope, Brooklyn . Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years work experience before, during, or after graduation. Highly evolved, intuitive, pragmatic thinking and communication skills are necessary.
Please email resume, salary requirements, and cover letter to careers@sandrahartogassoc.com.
